Early Autumn Butterfly
Autumn arrived in my hometown of Taos as I began this neckpiece. After a particularly rainy season the greens and sages turned bronze and gold, and the butterflies grew fat and lazy in the afternoon sunshine. This piece combines embroidery, netting, and peyote. Egyptian Queen Necklace

Loosely based off of collarpieces found in ancient Egypt, this piece was designed for Lisa, at 1 Stop Bead Shop. She asked me to create a piece using bugle beads since we'd just gotten a batch in and you, our friends, kept asking how to use them. I didn't do much with her request until we got the longer twisted Miyuki Bugles in and they had that matte finish I get all jazzed about.

Pyrite & Agate Cabochon set in Japanese Twisted Hex seed beads. Three separate kinds of freshwater pearls, glass, & Swarovski Crystal. 20" necklace.

This was designed for a class and has since been retired. You can also purchase the instructions for this piece at $15.00; just email me. Teaches Ladder Stitch, one of the first techniques I learned. Found in Egyptian Art and on every continent, this stitch can either be done with one needle or two. I recommend one needle since I have trouble tangling threads and the resultant piece is stronger.

The Spiral Dance Eye Necklace is 20" long. Made of jewlers brass, Czech glass and lampwork.

This project was designed in two major steps. First, the spiral beadwork was worked around a core I strung on flexwire. Later, the fringe was added with the metal drops. I adore this piece, but you can see its a little doifferent than my newer pieces, so is on clearance!

Mermaid's Treasure Necklace is my entry into the January/February 2010 Etsy Beadweaver's Challenge: The Ocean. Handmade lampwork glass crab claw by Nancy Lawler. Lampworked and fused glass cabochons by Catharine Weaver. The central section is beaded around a straw, using inspiration from both Linda Gettings and also a netting technique I learned from Jeannette Cook. Mother of pearl, shell, glass, and sterling silver. Approximately 18" long.

With Regards Necklace Beadwoven Collar

This piece was made using one of Kaffe Fassett's excellent knitting patterns as its centerpiece. Worked in square stitch, ladder stitch and straight fringing techniques, I was really done with fringe by the time it was complete. Collar is approximately 16" across the top & hangs 10" from collar.

Made of all glass with a gold and amethyst clasp. 200 beads per square inch.
